You offer to help a person meet a deadline. In the end it helps you too, but you can’t feel you were suckered into offering to help in the first place. While helping isn’t extraordinary, the actual work is slightly inappropriate in that is is the other person’s job. If you back out now, you feel you’ve broke your word, but at the same time, it isn’t exactly proper to help out someone who will claim all the credit. What would you do?
